Portumna Playground

Right beside Portumna Castle and on the edge of the forest, this spot has a lot going for it before the kids even hit the zipline. And that zipline is genuinely the main event — it gets queued up fast on a busy day, fair warning. There’s a solid climbing structure and slides too, so younger ones aren’t left hanging while the older kids take over. Picnic tables make it easy to stretch the visit out, and parking is right there which makes a difference when you’re hauling gear. One of the better-kept playgrounds in Galway if you ask anyone local.
