If you’re caught in one of Kerry’s classic drizzly days with kids in tow, this is genuinely one of the better calls you can make. The cave tour is properly impressive — ancient stalactites and stalagmites that took millions of years to form, and the guides actually make it interesting rather than just reading from a script. It works for all ages, though little ones tend to be either completely mesmerised or slightly spooked, which is half the fun. There’s a cafe on site for warming up after, and parking and toilets are sorted, so you’re not scrambling. A solid family outing that earns its keep on a wet afternoon.
