Small but genuinely lovely, this little spot in Killeshin punches above its weight when it comes to the views — you can see right out over Carlow Town and the surrounding countryside, and on a clear day it’s hard to beat. The playground itself is basic enough — slides, swings, a seesaw, and a climbing frame — so it’s really best suited to the younger ones rather than older kids looking for something more involved. That said, the picnic tables and open grass field make it a solid choice for a family afternoon out, especially in decent weather. Worth noting that cleanliness can be hit or miss depending on when you visit, so maybe lower your expectations on that front. There’s also a pond nearby which adds a nice touch to the setting.
