If you’re passing through Rakaia, this playground is genuinely worth stopping for rather than just driving on through. The setup covers most of what kids actually want — slides, swings, a seesaw, and a decent climbing structure that keeps the older ones busy while toddlers do their thing. The shade trees are the real selling point on a hot Canterbury day, and there’s enough seating at the picnic tables that you’re not standing around waiting for somewhere to sit. Restrooms are on-site and kept clean, which honestly makes or breaks a playground stop when you’ve got little kids in tow — there’s even a baby changing station.
