Playground / Presidential Park

If you’re passing through Whangamōmona on the Forgotten World Highway, this little playground at Presidential Park is worth a quick stop. It’s nothing flash, but that’s kind of the point — this whole town runs on charm over infrastructure. Parents can keep an eye on the kids easily enough without having to hover, which makes it a decent breather spot on what can be a long drive through the ranges. Honestly, the park itself is half the appeal, given Whangamōmona’s whole deal as a self-declared republic.
