Pioneer Park Playground

If you’re local to Alexandra, you probably already know Pioneer Park is one of the better spots to take the kids without spending the whole afternoon anxious about where they’ve wandered off to. The fenced enclosure is a proper godsend for toddler parents — you can actually sit down at one of the picnic tables and eat your lunch like a human being. The equipment’s been updated recently and handles the full age range pretty well, from the little ones on the swings through to older kids working the climbing structure. Shade trees and covered seating mean you’re not completely cooked in the Central Otago sun, and the open grass field gives everyone room to burn off whatever energy’s left.
