Alpha Street Reserve Playground

Locals know this one’s worth stopping at — the playground’s actually kept in decent shape, which isn’t something you can say about every reserve in the area. It sits right next to the Dunstan Lake walkway, so you can send the kids off to kick a ball around on the soccer field while you do a lap and take in the views. There are BBQs on site, which makes it genuinely useful for a family afternoon rather than just a quick visit. Heritage buildings nearby give it a bit of character too, if you’re into that sort of thing.
