Honestly, the views of the harbour alone make this worth the trip up Highcliff Road. It’s a pretty simple setup — mostly open grass — but that’s kind of the point. Kids have room to actually run around and kick a ball without being crammed into some tiny corner. Families with kids of all ages seem to get good use out of it, and the scenery while you’re watching them play is hard to beat anywhere in Dunedin.
