Besley Park Playground

The pirate ship climbing structure is honestly one of the better ones in Taupō — kids go nuts for it, and there’s enough challenge there to keep older ones busy too. Big shade trees mean you’re not just standing in the sun watching them, and the benches are actually positioned well for keeping an eye on things. There’s a decent open grass area for a kick around, plus outdoor gym gear if you want to feel like you’re doing something productive. Parking’s easy, toilets are on site, and the views from the park aren’t bad at all — it’s the kind of place you end up staying longer than planned.
