Petone Foreshore Playground

The Petone foreshore gets a solid amount of sun, which makes this spot genuinely one of the better options in the Lower Hutt area on a good day. Kids gravitate straight to the play train, and there’s enough on the climbing structure to keep the 3–10 crowd busy while you grab a bench and actually relax. The mosaic art dotted around gives it a bit of character you don’t get at your average council playground. Beach access is basically steps away, so once they’re done on the swings it naturally turns into a full afternoon out. Parking is easy, loos are on site, and the open grass field means there’s room to spread out even when it’s busy.
