Silverwood Playground

Locals know this Porirua spot for its views alone, but the playground itself earns its keep too. There’s a solid mix of slides and climbing gear that genuinely keeps kids from 2 to 12 occupied — little ones gravitate toward the easier stuff while older kids work out the climbing structure. Picnic tables make it an easy call for a lunch outing, and the open grass field gives kids somewhere to burn off energy once they’re done with the equipment. Parent visibility is good throughout, which takes the stress out of it.
