Dixon Park Playground

Locals know Dixon Park is one of the better setups on the West Coast for a proper family outing. The covered play area is a genuine lifesaver given Greymouth’s weather — kids can still hit the slides and climbing structure even when it’s doing that classic drizzly thing. There’s a shallow water feature that the little ones absolutely lose their minds over in summer, and the swings keep the 2-to-12 crowd busy long enough for parents to actually sit down. Shade trees, picnic tables, a BBQ area, and restrooms means you can make a real afternoon of it without having to run back home for anything. The open grass field gives older kids room to kick a ball around while you keep an eye on the younger ones in the enclosed play area.
