Play on the Beach

Right on the seafront in Bognor, this one’s hard to walk past without the kids making a beeline for it. The pirate ship is the obvious draw — themed equipment done properly, not just a slide bolted to a wooden frame — and the big sandpit keeps the younger ones busy for ages, especially when they’ve already got sand in their shoes from the beach. Everything’s enclosed, which makes a real difference when you’re trying to actually relax for five minutes. Slides and swings cover the basics, but honestly it’s the setting that makes it — you’ve got the sea right there, and the whole thing just works.
