Southmead Adventure Playground (The Ranch)

The Ranch has been a Southmead staple for years, and honestly it punches well above its weight for a free adventure playground. Kids go absolutely feral for the water and sand play — expect soggy shoes and zero regrets — and the death slide lives up to its name in the best possible way. Staff here are genuinely great, the kind who actually engage with the kids rather than just watching from a distance. It’s a solid birthday party venue too, with enough space and activities to keep a group entertained without you having to do much heavy lifting. Parking’s on-site and there are toilets, so you can actually stay a while.
