Bridge Recreational Ground and Play Park

If you’re local to Canterbury, you probably already know that Bridge Rec is the spot on a warm day — kids head straight for the water feature and honestly it’s hard to get them out. There’s decent shade from the trees, which makes a real difference in summer, and the picnic tables actually get used rather than just sitting there looking sad. Toilets on site and parking nearby mean you’re not having to plan around the basics. The lake adds a nice bit of scenery, and it’s close enough to the beach that you can easily make a proper day of it rather than just a quick stop.
