Scotby Play Park

Tucked just outside Carlisle, this little spot is well-loved by the local dog walking crowd, and you’ll almost certainly share the space with a few on any given visit. The play equipment is pretty basic — swings are about the sum of it — so don’t bring the kids expecting anything elaborate. That said, the open grass field is a decent size and doubles as a cricket ground, which gives it a proper village feel. Maintenance has been a bit hit and miss lately, so it’s worth checking before you make a special trip. Parking is available on site, which at least makes life easier if you’re coming from further afield.
