Borough Gardens Playground

Right in the middle of Dorchester, Borough Gardens is honestly one of those spots that punches well above its weight for a town park. The Victorian gardens are immaculately kept, and the playground sits within them without feeling like an afterthought — slides, swings, a climbing structure, a merry-go-round, all on soft ground, covering a solid age range from wobbly toddlers up to around eight. The real crowd-pleaser on a warm day is the magic fountain — it fires up in random patterns, which sounds simple but kids absolutely lose their minds for it. There’s a cafe on site, proper restrooms, picnic tables, shaded seating under mature trees, and good sightlines for parents who’d rather not spend the whole visit hovering. Parking nearby makes it easy enough that it’s worth coming from a few towns over.
