The Plough Inn, Stalisfield

If you’ve made the drive out to Stalisfield, you already know it’s worth every winding country lane. The Plough sits in seriously quiet countryside, with the North Downs and nearby trails making it feel properly rural — not just a pub that calls itself countryside. The food is the real draw here; proper gastro pub cooking that doesn’t try too hard but consistently delivers, using local produce you can actually taste a difference in. Staff are genuinely warm, the kind where you don’t feel rushed even on a busy Sunday. Parking’s easy, kids are welcome, and honestly it’s the sort of place locals are half-hoping you won’t find out about.
