Calthorpe Park Playground

Calthorpe Park is one of those spots locals keep to themselves — and honestly, fair enough. The fort structure is genuinely cool, not just a climbing frame with a flag slapped on it, and the dedicated toddler section means the little ones aren’t getting flattened by older kids. There are two zip lines, which always draws a crowd, plus a fully enclosed play area so you’re not constantly doing headcounts. When the kids need a break from the playground, the bike track out front is brilliant for scooters and first bikes, and the open grass stretches far enough for a proper runaround or a picnic without feeling cramped. Parking’s easy, the benches are well-positioned, and the whole place has a calm, unhurried feel that’s getting harder to find.
