Shorne Woods Country Park

If you’re based anywhere near Gravesend and haven’t made it to Shorne Woods yet, you’re genuinely missing out. The climbing structure keeps kids occupied long enough for adults to actually sit down and eat their sandwiches at one of the picnic tables — which, honestly, is the dream. There’s a lake nearby and miles of woodland trails that feel properly wild without being overwhelming, so it works just as well for a gentle stroll as it does for letting the dog burn off some energy across the open grass. Everything’s kept in good shape too, which you don’t always take for granted with country parks. One of those places the whole family — dog included — leaves feeling like they actually did something with their day.
