Menston Park

The play area here got a solid refurb not too long ago, and it shows — the climbing structure, slides, and swings are all in good nick and the right scale for kids roughly four to ten. There’s loads of open grass around it, so while the little ones are burning energy, you can actually spread out a picnic blanket without feeling cramped. Dog walkers pretty much own the walking path on weekday mornings, so weekends tend to feel more family-oriented. Parking is straightforward, benches and picnic tables are dotted around sensibly, and the views across toward the moors are the kind of thing you stop noticing after a while — until a visitor points them out and you remember why you live here. The skate park adds a bit of life to the far end if you’ve got older kids in tow too.
