Worden Park

Honestly one of the best free days out in the whole of Lancashire — Worden has a proper mix of stuff that keeps kids busy for hours. The playground covers all ages with slides and a water feature, there’s a maze to disappear into, and the mini railway is a genuine highlight rather than just a token attraction. It backs onto woodland trails and there’s a pond nearby, so once the kids are done playing you can actually have a decent walk without getting back in the car. Parking is free and easy, the facilities are kept in good shape, and there’s a cafe on site so you’re not scrambling for snacks. Local families come back again and again for a reason.
