Barming Heath

The play area here is properly enclosed, which makes a real difference when you’ve got little ones who like to bolt — swings and slides keep the 2 to 8 crowd busy while you actually sit down on one of the benches for five minutes. It’s the kind of spot locals rely on rather than make a special trip for, and that’s not a criticism. The football pitch and open grass field alongside it mean older siblings or dads who’ve had enough of the swings can kick a ball around without getting in anyone’s way. Street parking nearby isn’t the most convenient, but it’s manageable and rarely a drama.
