Locals know this one as a solid go-to for little ones, especially if you’ve got toddlers in tow — the gated enclosure means you’re not constantly chasing anyone into the car park. The musical equipment always gets kids lingering longer than expected, which is either a blessing or a curse depending on your schedule. There’s a decent mix of kit too: slides, swings, a merry-go-round, climbing frame, and a seesaw, so even the pickier ones usually find something. Benches under the shade trees make it bearable in summer, and the open grass beyond the play area is good for a wander or letting the dog stretch its legs. Kept clean and tidy more often than not — genuinely one of Mansfield’s better-maintained spots for the under-eights.
