Free entry and genuinely brilliant staff make this one of Portsmouth’s most underrated spots for kids. The massive sandpit alone will keep younger ones busy for hours, but there’s plenty more to dig into across the site. It’s the kind of place where children are actually encouraged to take risks and figure things out for themselves — refreshing, honestly. Suitable for kids up to 13, so older ones don’t feel like they’ve aged out before they’re ready.
