Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway, Playground

The playground here is really just a bonus on top of what’s already a brilliant day out — the narrow gauge railway ride through the Eskdale valley is the real draw, and honestly it delivers every time. Kids who are into trains will be completely sold before they even reach the playground. It’s the kind of place where the journey genuinely is the point, winding through proper Cumbrian countryside rather than anything manicured or touristy. Worth timing your visit around the train schedule so you can do a round trip.
