Steven Jenkins Rainbow Playground

Right on the seafront edge of Sandown, this place punches well above its weight for a town playground. The zipline alone is worth the trip — kids queue up for it on sunny afternoons, and rightly so. There’s a solid climbing structure, a couple of slides, and enough open grass nearby for a proper runaround when the equipment gets busy. Picnic tables and benches mean you can actually sit down and eat without balancing a sandwich on your lap, which parents around here genuinely appreciate. It stays noticeably cleaner than a lot of coastal playgrounds, and with a pond close by and the beach just a short walk away, you can easily make a full afternoon of it.
