Shaldon Play Park

Right on the edge of the estuary, this little enclosed park punches above its weight for such a small village spot. The views toward the river mouth are genuinely lovely — not something you’d expect from a toddler play area. It’s kept in good nick, with spongy safety surfacing underfoot and picnic tables if you want to make a proper afternoon of it. Best suited to younger kids, but honestly the setting does a lot of the heavy lifting.
