Millhouses Park Playground

If you’re looking for a solid half-day out with the kids, this is probably one of the better spots in south Sheffield to pull it off. The playground itself covers the basics well — swings, slides, a zipline — but the water feature is what really keeps younger ones occupied longer than expected. Beyond the play area, there’s the lake with paddle boats for hire and a cafe that’s genuinely decent for a park cafe, which matters when you’re waiting for kids to tire themselves out. Parking is free, loos are on site, and the bike track and open grass mean older kids aren’t standing around bored once they’ve done the playground bit. It gets busy on weekends, so a weekday visit if you can manage it.
