Roberts Park Play Area

If you live in Shipley and haven’t spent a Sunday afternoon at Roberts Park, you’re missing out. The play area covers the basics well — slides and swings that keep toddlers and school-age kids happy while you actually get to sit down for five minutes. There’s a bike track too, which is a proper bonus if your kid is at that stage of desperately wanting to ride everywhere. What makes it worth the trip though is everything around it: you’re right near the trails, close to the canal, and the river walk is genuinely one of the nicer ones in the area — calm enough that it doesn’t feel like you’re still in town. Pack a picnic, let the kids burn off energy, then wander along the water.
