Strawberry season here is genuinely something locals look forward to — the fruit is proper sweet and the picking fields are well-organised enough that you’re not fighting through mud to find the good ones. There’s a farm shop worth browsing even if you’re not staying long, stocked with quality produce that puts most supermarkets to shame. The café does the job nicely for a sit-down after you’ve worn the kids out, and there are picnic tables if you’d rather eat outside under the shade trees. Parking is straightforward, and the walking path means you can stretch your legs without it turning into a full hike. A solid half-day out for families, especially in summer when the fruit picking is in full swing.
