A proper local gem, this one. The playground has your usual suspects — swings, seesaw, climbing frame, merry-go-round — but what makes it worth the trip is everything around it: a football pitch, loads of open grass, and a walking path that takes you out toward the trees and the nearby pond. It’s the kind of place where kids can disappear for a couple of hours while adults actually relax. Parking’s easy, there are loos on site, and there’s a cafe if you need a coffee to survive the school holidays.
