Homestead Park

One of the better-kept parks in York, honestly. The play area has slides, swings, and a solid climbing structure that keeps kids busy long enough for you to actually sit down and enjoy the surroundings — there are plenty of benches and picnic tables under decent shade trees. The water feature adds something a bit different, and with a pond nearby and trails leading toward the forest edge, the whole place has a genuinely calm feel to it rather than that chaotic weekend-park energy. Restrooms and parking are both on-site, which sounds basic but makes a real difference when you’re hauling kids around. There are some nice artistic touches scattered through the grounds too — worth a slower walk if you’re not being dragged toward the swings immediately.
