Right on the High Street in Dalbeattie, this play cafe is genuinely one of those places locals are glad to have on their doorstep. The wooden toys keep kids busy for ages, and there’s musical equipment thrown in too — handy for burning off energy when the weather’s doing its usual Scottish thing. Coffee is actually good here, which matters, and the setup means you can keep an eye on the kids without hovering over them the whole time. They do birthday parties as well, and the staff clearly enjoy what they do. Solid spot for the 1–12 crowd, whether you’re killing time between errands or making a proper afternoon of it.
