One of the south side’s best-kept open secrets, this park punches well above its weight for a city green space. The views from the higher ground are genuinely worth the climb, and on a clear day you’ll understand why locals are quietly smug about living nearby. Kids can hit the swings or mess around by the water feature while the grown-ups claim a bench in the shade or get the BBQ going — there’s plenty of room for everyone without it ever feeling cramped. A proper walking path loops round near the pond, the football and basketball facilities get a good workout on weekends, and the open grass fields mean you’re not constantly dodging other folk. Park up, pack a picnic, and plan to stay longer than you think.
