Caldicot Castle Playground

If you’ve got a toddler and you’re looking for a half-day out that doesn’t cost you anything, this one’s hard to beat. The playground sits right on the castle grounds, which already makes it feel a bit special — kids can play on the slides and climbing structure while you’re surrounded by trees and actual medieval stonework. The disc swing is a big hit with the little ones, and there’s plenty of open grass nearby when they inevitably want to just run in circles for twenty minutes. Shade trees, picnic tables, and proper restrooms mean you can actually stay a while without everything falling apart. Honestly, for the under-6 crowd, it’s one of the better setups in the area.
