If you’re local to Newport and looking for a solid spot that actually delivers on a family day out, this one’s hard to beat. The basketball court and soccer field keep older kids occupied while the little ones have plenty of open grass to tear around on, and the walking path around the pond is genuinely lovely on a decent day. There’s a cafe on site which — trust me — you’ll appreciate more than you expect, especially if you’ve forgotten to pack snacks (again). The BBQ area is a nice touch too, and parking means you’re not doing that awkward Newport side-street shuffle. It’s well kept, clean, and feels like somewhere people actually take pride in — which isn’t something you can say about every park around here.
