Lower Common Park Playground

Locals with kids pretty much all know this one — it’s got that enclosed play area that makes life a lot easier when you’ve got toddlers who like to bolt. The equipment covers a decent age range, so younger ones and older kids can both find something to do rather than fighting over the same bit of kit. There’s a football pitch and a big open grass field too, which is handy when the kids need to burn off some energy beyond the playground itself. The pond nearby gives it a nice feel, and with the outdoor gym, parents aren’t just standing around watching — there’s actually something to do. Parking right there and toilets on site means it’s an easy half-day out without any of the usual faff.
