Lake Shelby Playground

Tucked inside Gulf State Park, this one’s got that woodsy, rope-and-timber climbing setup that feels way more interesting than your standard plastic playground. Kids between 2 and 12 get a solid workout on the obstacle course and climbing structures, and honestly the views out toward Lake Shelby make it worth the trip even for the adults standing around watching. There’s parking, restrooms, and benches, so you’re not roughing it. Walk the path around the lake after and you’ve basically got a full afternoon handled.
