Aleknagik School Playground

Out here in Aleknagik, options for kids to burn off energy are pretty limited, so the school playground pulls a lot of weight for the community. It’s the kind of spot where local kids end up after school and on weekends almost by default. Nothing fancy, but when you’re this far off the road system in rural Alaska, having a dedicated outdoor space for children matters more than people might realize. If you’re visiting or just passing through, it’s worth knowing this is one of the few spots in the village where younger kids can get outside and play.
