The playground has swings and a climbing structure that keep kids in the 2-12 range busy long enough for the adults to actually relax on the shaded benches. It backs up close to the forest, so you get that real Anchorage feel — tall trees, quiet, and not much noise beyond birds and the occasional dog walker on the path. Throw a blanket on the open grass field, grab one of the picnic tables, and you’ve got a pretty solid few hours sorted. Parking is easy, the shade trees actually do their job on sunny days, and the trails nearby are worth exploring if the kids still have energy left.
