Helena doesn’t have a ton of great options for kids, so Freeman Playground really does pull its weight for this community. The soft surfacing is a big deal — you can actually let younger ones run around without hovering over every stumble, and it’s the kind of thoughtful touch that tells you someone actually planned this place with kids in mind. It works for a pretty wide age range too, from toddlers just finding their legs all the way up to kids around 12 who still want something to do outside. Accessibility is solid here, which matters more than people realize until you’re the parent trying to figure out if your kid can actually use the equipment. And honestly, it’s kept clean — which, again, not a given, so worth mentioning.
