Fun Park

If you’re already making the trip out to Jacksonport State Park, Fun Park is a solid stop to tack on while you’re in the area. Newport doesn’t have a ton of options like this, so locals tend to appreciate it more than outsiders might expect. The wheelchair-accessible layout means you’re not leaving anyone out, which honestly matters more than people give it credit for. Between the playground and the historic courthouse museum just down the road, you can actually make a decent half-day of it without driving all over Jackson County.
