El Mirage Campground OHV

If you’ve got a quad, SXS, or any kind of dirt toy, El Mirage is the place locals have been coming to for years. That dry lake bed is massive — genuinely one of the better spots in the High Desert for letting kids get their first real seat time on an ATV without worrying about traffic or crowds getting in the way. Dry camping means you’re roughing it a bit, so come prepared with water and supplies, but honestly that’s part of the appeal. Trails fan out in multiple directions, and there’s enough open space that families can spread out and do their own thing. It’s not fancy, but that’s not why anyone drives out to Adelanto.
