Holmes Park

Holmes Park is one of those solid neighborhood spots in Fresno that actually does what a community park should do. The lighting situation here is genuinely good — you can come out in the evening and not feel sketchy about it, which isn’t something you can say about every park in the area. Kids have the swings, there’s a basketball court for pickup games, and the open grass field gives everyone else room to spread out. Restrooms are open and the picnic tables stay pretty clean, which tells you staff are actually paying attention. Families with kids of all ages come through regularly, and it’s got that comfortable, lived-in feel that makes it easy to stick around for a while.
