Southern Humboldt Community Park

If you’re anywhere near Garberville, this park is worth going out of your way for. The bike track and open grass fields give kids ages 5 and up plenty of room to actually move — we’re not talking about a few sad swings here. Walking paths weave through the edges of the park with the forest right there, so it never feels like you’re just stuck in a parking lot with some equipment. Disc golf draws a regular crowd, and the whole place has that easy community feel where you’ll probably run into half the town on a weekend afternoon. Pack a lunch — the picnic tables get used, and honestly, you’ll want to stay longer than you planned.
