Locals know Oak Park is one of those reliable spots that actually delivers — ball fields, basketball hoops, covered picnic tables with grills, and clean restrooms all in one place. It’s the kind of park where you can run a pickup game, throw something on the grill, and let the kids burn off energy without constantly checking your watch. The open space here is generous, which makes it feel less crowded even when there’s a lot going on. Bonus if you’re into hiking — the access to Monte Sano trails nearby means you can easily tack on a longer adventure after the picnic. Gilroy has a few decent parks, but this one tends to be the go-to for a reason.
