Leo’s Haven is one of those parks that actually gets it right — the mix of slides, swings, a merry-go-round, play train, and musical equipment means kids aren’t fighting over the same two things for an hour. The enclosed play area is a lifesaver if you’ve got a toddler who bolts, and the whole setup is designed with accessibility in mind, so it works for a real range of kids and abilities. Restrooms with a baby changing station, picnic tables, and decent parking make it genuinely easy for families to stay a while. There’s also a bike track and open grass field, so older kids and adults have somewhere to be. Honestly, it’s the kind of neighborhood park Santa Cruz should have more of.
