Playground

If you know South Lake Tahoe, you know this spot feels less like a designated playground and more like a natural hangout that happens to have picnic tables. The forest is right there — close enough that the kids can wander toward the trail while you’re still unpacking lunch. River access makes it a solid pick in summer, whether that means wading in or just sitting near the water while everyone else does the hiking. It works for all ages, honestly, which is rarer than it sounds around here.
