Highline State Park playground

Out here in Loma, there aren’t a ton of options for kids, so the fact that Highline State Park actually put in new equipment makes a real difference. The slides and climbing structure are solid — nothing fancy, but genuinely fun for kids and not the beat-up stuff you find at a lot of rural parks. The shade trees do a lot of heavy lifting on hot afternoons, which if you’ve spent any time in this part of Colorado, you know matters. Picnic tables and clean restrooms nearby mean you can actually settle in for a while instead of just a quick stop.
